Consortium

SQUALE consortium is constituted of 5 partners, each one daily involved in safety, securiy and/or evaluation business and activities.

CR2A-DI, Admiral and IABG are not only involved, as european ITSEFs, in Security activities and ITSEC Evaluations, but have also various activities in Safety. They have together produced an INFOSEC report (project S2114) where the commonalities and differences between Safety and Security were identified and a convergence bridge was established in prevision of future harmonisation works. For this project they bring a unified view of the subject and a very good knowledge of the ITSEC criteria which will constitute the backbone of SQUALE.

The LAAS laboratory has a well known research group working on Dependable Computing and Fault Tolerance (managed by Jean Claude Laprie). They will bring a strong theorical support for solving harmonisation safety/security problems along with feedbacks from safety research techniques currently experimented in the evaluation field (e.g. quantitative evaluation).

At least, MATRA TRANSPORT INTERNATIONAL, as an railway industrial, will bring an entry point to the railway safety community (CIG), to associate standardisation bodies (e.g. CEN/CENELEC WG 65) and will contribute to enhance the industrial applicability of the SQUALE results.

BOUYGUES TELECOM a French Telecommunication operator, acting as associated contractor will contribute to a criteria applicability trial in the telecommunication sector by using the SQUALE methodology on its cellular phone network
